Personal Bio
A quick introduction of me. Who am I? What do I love to do?
Hello there! My name is Serafin Gargantiel. I am an aspiring software engineer and a soccer player.
There is some things to share about me and what is it that I love to do, and it's not
just engineering that really builds my personality. I am someone who is eager to learn
more and increase my network.
I am UIC graduate in computer science and software engineering, a semi-pro soccer player, and an upcoming fellow in COOP Careers in Data Analytics track. I love to build things for fun and also part of two awesome student organizations, Society of Professional Hispanic Engineers (SHPE) and Filipinos In Alliance (FIA).
My technical work of projects spans a full-stack development, applied AI engineering, android systems, and databases. Along my projects, I have built a semantic search system using FAISS, IPC systems in Java with Android Studio, and a 3D biome environment with React and Three.js.
Outside of engineering, I love to compete in soccer where I have been in two semi-pro soccer leagues, United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) and Greater Chicago Soccer League (GCSL). I've also been in two student organizations as well. I am a member of SHPE, a hispanic STEM organization, and FIA, a filipino cultural organization.
As of right now, I have an upcoming cohort for Coop Careers Fellowship in Data Analytics track. Aside from that, I am actively seeking entry level roles for software engineering and I am open to connecting with people building amazing things in this field.
